Metro is the region’s most influential transit agency. What tools can we build that make it easier to use or that illustrate its impact? Join us for #metrohacknight and show us what you can do with data from WMATA, or other sources. We’ll be looking at both rail and bus.
The primary way of accessing WMATA data (schedule and real-time) is through the WMATA Datasets API, or by downloading the GTFS data. Sometimes their PlanItMetro blog releases trip-history data – see theirdata-download tag. The DC Atlas also has a lot of geospatial information about Metro – including Metro Bus Lines, Metro Bus Stops,Park-N-Ride Lots, Metro Stations, Metro Station Entrances, and more.
