Mobility Lab and Director Tom Fairchild are proud to be honored at the upcoming Dulles Area Transportation Association (DATA) 28th Anniversary Celebration.
Noted by DATA Executive Director Jim Larsen as “a highlight of the evening,” the awards will recognize “outstanding achievement and support by transportation professionals and DATA partners toward accomplishing DATA’s mission of an improved transportation system for the Dulles Corridor.”
Fairchild will receive the “Northern Virginia Transportation Partner” award.
Keynote speaker for the event will be Aubrey Layne, Virginia Secretary of Transportation.
The Career Achievement Award will be given posthumously to Ron Kirby, in recognition of his efforts on DATA’s behalf and the entire metropolitan region while at the Washington Area Council of Governments. The Founder’s Award, named for DATA founder Dr. Sydney Steele, will be presented to Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority President and CEO Jack Potter.
Other honorees will include:
- Transportation Professional – Marcia McAllister, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project
- Special Achievement Award – Betty Hettinger, National Reconnaissance Office
- Northern Virginia Sustainability Partners – Robin Wilson, Goodwin House and Beth Amedeo, Local Motion/Alexandria
- Business Partner – Reston Hospital Center
- Partner Organization – Cornerstones, Inc.
