Vox.com says American elections can feel a bit outdated and offers a nice list of ways to improve them.
A big part of the list is related to the demand on our transportation systems on Election Day.
While it’s nice that Zipcar and Lyft are offering discounted rides Tuesday, Vox’s ideas are even better: allow more voting by mail, online, and by spreading congestion out over time with easier rules in place for more early voting options.
Not sure we can avoid Tuesday’s long lines, but at least biking or walking will remove the pain of parking. (And, even better, in the Washington, D.C., region, Capital Bikeshare is offering free bike rides to the polls for one day only.)
