Transportation thought leader and Mobility Lab pal Gabe Klein notes that 60 percent of car trips in the U.S. could be a 10-minute or shorter walk. With our car-driven economy, we have to first admit our failure. But in the U.S., we have a very hard time designing our transportation for people. In other places, the cars are considered the guests on streets.
Klein’s TEDx talk is a very worthy way to spend 20 minutes. His broad story of how we need to use technology to return to a simpler and better time, in terms of how we get around.
