To cut car pollution, ask drivers to “think of yourself”

CityLab highlights a UK study that may have found a way for drivers to care for the environment. We often hear how our grandchildren will be affected by the pollution we’re creating today, and we also know that our actions typically make it seem like we could care less. But when drivers at a rail crossing in Canterbury encountered signs with eyes looking at them and the words “think of yourself,” they cut their engines from idling in significant numbers.
