Cars almost killed our cities, but here’s how we can bring them back

Transportation thought leader and Mobility Lab pal Gabe Klein notes that 60 percent of car trips in the U.S. could be a 10-minute or shorter walk. With our car-driven economy, we have to first admit our failure. But in the U.S., we have a very hard time designing our transportation for people. In other places, the cars are considered the guests on streets.

Klein’s TEDx talk is a very worthy way to spend 20 minutes. His broad story of how we need to use technology to return to a simpler and better time, in terms of how we get around.
