Not on the map – statewide.

• Description: Virginia’s statewide long-range multimodal transportation plan. Identifies large scale state priorities. Locals are invited to comment at information sessions.
• Key dates: Originally adopted in 2009. Update complete December 2012.

Super NoVa Transit/TDM Vision Plan

• Description: Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) will develop a transit vision for Northern Virginia. They will recommend a network of new transit lines for the region.
• Key dates: Complete Fall 2012.

TransAction 2040

• Description:  Northern Virginia regional multimodal plan. Independent of Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT)/DRPT. Developed by Northern Virginia Transportation Authority (NVTA) (the jurisdictions). If NVTA receives funding, the projects it builds will be from this plan.
• Key dates: Complete Summer 2012.

Transportation Planning Board (TPB) Regional Priorities Plan

• Description: Multimodal list of unfunded regional transportation priorities. Includes VA, MD and DC.
• Key dates: Completion unknown.

I-66 Multimodal Study (Inside the Beltway)

• Description: VDOT study considering a wide range of options for the I-66 Corridor, including widening, HOT lanes, bus lanes, etc. Corridor includes Arlington Blvd and Lee Highway.
• Key dates: Complete June 2012.

I-66 Tier I Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) (Outside the Beltway)

• Description: VDOT study. Similar to Inside the Beltway Study. Considering multimodal options for I-66. Could result in widening, tolling, Metro extensions, etc.
• Key dates: Complete December 2012.

I-66 Active Traffic Management Project (ATM)

• Description: VDOT construction project to improve lane control.
• Key dates: Design/build project. Construction anticipated winter 2012/13.

I-95 / I-395 Integrated Corridor Management Initiative (ICM)

• Description: Study and recommend potential ICM techniques for I95/395. Will result in a construction/implementation project. Likely to include variable message signs with real-time multimodal travel info, better websites, etc.
• Key dates: Deployment recommendations: Spring/Summer 2012.

14^th Street Bridge EIS

• Description: Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) study considering options for the bridge. Began under the assumption that High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes would need to be carried over, now considering other options.
• Key dates: Final EIS (FEIS) Summer 2012.
